In Los Angeles, fans eagerly anticipating Lionsgate and Blumhouse’s upcoming film “Imaginary” now have the chance to step into the eerie world of the movie with the immersive pop-up experience, “Blumhouse Presents: Chauncey’s Imaginary Playhouse.”

Debuting on February 23 at 8175 Melrose Ave., this unique experience invites visitors to delve deeper into the unsettling friendship between Chauncey the Bear and the young Alice, portrayed by DeWanda Wise (known for her role in “Jurassic World Dominion”), who also produces the film. Scheduled for theatrical release on March 8, 2024, “Imaginary” promises a chilling exploration of the dangers lurking within the realm of imagination.

As guests journey through the playhouse, they’ll venture into Chauncey’s basement, where hints of the dark and shocking truth behind the imaginary friend await, alongside ample photo opportunities to capture the chilling ambiance.

The pop-up will be open to the public from February 23 to March 2, with special closure from February 27-29 for an exclusive event. Operating hours are 4pm-10pm Monday through Thursday, and 1pm-11pm Friday through Sunday. Admission is free, but reservations are recommended through www.imaginaryplayhouse.com.

Produced by Jason Blum of Blumhouse, with Jeff Wadlow serving as director and co-writer, “Imaginary” delves into the unsettling power of imagination and its potentially devastating consequences. According to Wadlow, the film transcends mere scares, delving into a realm where imagination can unlock terrifying realities with genuine repercussions.

The immersive experience is part of Lionsgate’s and Blumhouse’s efforts to engage audiences in unique and memorable ways, tapping into the thrill of horror brought to life. With “Imaginary,” viewers can expect a spine-tingling tale of childhood innocence twisted into a nightmare, as Jessica (played by DeWanda Wise) discovers the sinister truth behind her stepdaughter Alice’s attachment to Chauncey.

The film also features Tom Payne, Taegen Burns, Pyper Braun, Veronica Falcon, and Betty Buckley, with a screenplay by Jeff Wadlow, Greg Erb, and Jason Oremland. As anticipation builds for the theatrical release, “Blumhouse Presents: Chauncey’s Imaginary Playhouse” offers a tantalizing glimpse into the chilling world of “Imaginary” and sets the stage for an unforgettable horror experience.
