Exciting news for fans of the ‘Insidious’ franchise as a new spinoff movie has been announced by Deadline. Titled ‘Thread: An Insidious Tale,’ the upcoming film will feature Mandy Moore and Kumail Nanjiani in the lead roles.

According to Deadline, the story revolves around a husband and wife (played by Nanjiani and Moore) who turn to a spell to travel back in time in an attempt to prevent the tragic death of their young daughter. As expected, the consequences of their actions prove to be severe.

Screen Gems, Blumhouse, and James Wan’s Atomic Monster are teaming up to bring this spinoff to life. Jeremy Slater, known for his work on projects like “The Exorcist” and “Moon Knight,” will be directing the film. Additionally, Slater has penned the screenplay for ‘Thread: An Insidious Tale.’

The ‘Insidious’ franchise, known for its chilling supernatural stories, originally saw its first two films written by Leigh Whannell and directed by James Wan. These movies delved into the terrifying struggles faced by the Lambert family in the depths of a malevolent dimension called The Further. The most recent installment in the franchise, ‘Insidious: The Last Key,’ was released in 2018.

With ‘Thread: An Insidious Tale,’ fans can anticipate a thrilling expansion of the ‘Insidious’ universe, introducing new characters and an intriguing storyline that explores the consequences of tampering with time.
