Rated “R” for “Violence, bloody images, drug content, language, and some sexual references,” “A Creature Was Stirring” follows Faith (Metz), a protective mother and nurse, who confines her daughter (Annalise Basso) to her room, administering methadone to keep a mysterious affliction in check.

When two strangers seeking shelter disrupt their Christmas by breaking in, they uncover a disturbing reality behind the mother-daughter relationship. Secrets emerge, revealing a malevolent presence lurking within.

Directed by Damien LeVeck (known for “The Cleansing Hour”), the script is penned by Shannon Wells.

LeVeck expressed, “For genre fans, this film has it all: a spectacular practical monster, unexpected twists and turns, and the phenomenal talent of Chrissy Metz in a kind of performance no one has ever seen from her before.”

Pfardrescher from Well Go mentioned, “The story itself conjures up this disturbing portrayal of how guilt, dark secrets, personal vices, and mental illness can combine, fester, and eventually end up eating you alive—perhaps even literally.”

This film, embracing classic creature features with practical effects, promises a dark transformation for each actor in a twisted narrative brought vividly to life on screen by Tate Steinsiek’s unparalleled mastery of nightmare-inducing visuals.
