The Strode House is a fictional location from the classic horror film Halloween, released in 1978. The film was directed by John Carpenter and written by Carpenter and Debra Hill. The Strode House serves as the home of the Strode family and plays a significant role in the movie’s plot, and this South Pasadena home is now for sale. The three-unit property on Fairview Avenue offers three units and enough space to be converted into a 4th unit, leaving two parking spaces on the Oxley side of the property. The home was built in 1906, and you can own it for $1,799,000 – a piece of horror film history.

Here’s a lovely expert from the listing:

“Yes, this was a filming location for the 1978 film ‘Halloween,’ as the house of Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis.) If you watch the film, you’ll recognize the infamous stoop that Jamie Lee Curtis sat on, holding a pumpkin.”

1103 Fairview Avenue, South Pasadena, CA 91030, has an open house scheduled on Saturday, September 9th, and Sunday, September 10th.

The Halloween 45th Anniversary Convention is happening at the Pasadena Convention Center on Saturday, September 30th, and Sunday, October 1st – if you’re in the neighborhood, you can stop by and take a photo on the famous stoop of the Strode house. If you were lucky enough to purchase a bus tour (sold out) for September 29th (One day before the convention), this is typically a stop on the tour. The former owners welcomed this and provided a pumpkin for photo ops; I hope the new owners are fans and offer the same experience for all to enjoy!
