True Crime Gets a Killer Twist in ‘Dinner to Die For’ Trailer
A passion for true crime turns dangerously seductive in the trailer for South African horror-thriller Dinner to Die For, hitting Digital tomorrow, January 30, via Chroma.
The film follows culinary photographer Hannah and her friend Evan, whose shared fascination with true crime spirals out of control when Evan proposes they stage their own killer scenario—a twisted role play involving a “perfect” murder and the girl next door. What starts as a flirtatious game of desire and validation soon escalates into a deadly high-stakes affair.
Shamilla Miller (Troy: Fall of a City), Steven John Ward (One Piece), and Nina Erasmus lead the cast.
Director Diana Mills Smith makes her feature debut with a script co-written by Cameron Scott and Orr Koren. “Dinner to Die For already promises death in the title,” Smith says. “The fun was keeping the audience guessing about how, when, and which characters meet their bloody end.”
She adds, “We wanted the film to feel seductive. Tension is like foreplay: build it, hold it, and release it at the perfect moment.”
Scott and Koren produce alongside Andea de Jager, with executive producers including Koren, Ahbra Perry, Asgar Mahomed, Ayanda Gwala, Kagiso Rabada, and Ryan Levin.
