Corey Hawkins Joins Mila Kunis for the Mind-Bending Thriller ‘Nightwatching’
Corey Hawkins (Kong: Skull Island) has signed on to co-star alongside Mila Kunis in the upcoming psychological thriller Nightwatching, according to Deadline.
Based on Tracy Sierra’s 2024 novel of the same name, the film is being directed by Adam Schindler and Brian Netto, the duo behind Don’t Move. The story centers on Lee (Kunis), a mother whose quiet night spirals into terror when she wakes to find an intruder inside her home during a brutal winter storm.
What begins as a single horrifying moment quickly becomes a desperate fight for survival. As Lee struggles to protect her children, paranoia and danger close in, forcing her to question not only who has broken into her house—but what their true intentions are.
Hawkins will play the police officer assigned to the home invasion case, placing him at the center of Lee’s unraveling nightmare.
The script was originally adapted by Laura Moss and Brendan J. O’Brien (Birth/Rebirth), with the current draft penned by T.J. Cimfel and David White (Don’t Move).
Producing the film are Ridley Scott, Michael Pruss, and Sam Roston for Scott Free Productions, alongside Erik Feig, Jessica Switch, and Emily Wissink for Picturestart. Kunis also produces with Lisa Sterbakov under her newly branded banner, Brick for Sheep.
Graham Taylor and Christopher Slager will executive produce for Fifth Season, which is also financing the project. Justin Alvarado Brown serves as executive producer for Scott Free, with Roston and Avital Siegel overseeing on the company’s behalf.
CAA Media Finance and WME Independent are handling domestic distribution rights, while Amazon MGM Studios will distribute internationally.
Nightwatching officially began production yesterday in California, with Zach Kuperstein (Barbarian, Don’t Move) on board as cinematographer.
