‘Faces of Death’ Returns: Teaser Reveals Long-Delayed Horror Remake

After being filmed in 2023, the long-awaited Faces of Death remake is finally coming to theaters on April 10, accompanied by a first teaser that promises a meta, modern take on the infamous 1978 mondo horror cult classic.

The story centers on a video website moderator tasked with policing violent and offensive content. Recovering from her own trauma, she discovers a group recreating the shocking murders from the original Faces of Death. In a narrative primed for the age of online misinformation, the key question emerges: are the murders real… or fake?

Daniel Goldhaber (Cam, How to Blow Up a Pipeline) directs, co-writing the script with Isa Mazzei (Cam). The cast includes Barbie Ferreira (Euphoria), Dacre Montgomery (Stranger Things), Josie Totah (Saved by the Bell), Aaron Holliday (Cocaine Bear), Jermaine Fowler (Sorry to Bother You), and pop star Charli XCX.

Faces of Death was one of the first viral video tapes, and we are so lucky to be able to use it as a jumping-off point for this exploration of cycles of violence and the way they perpetuate themselves online,” said Goldhaber and Mazzei.

The film is rated R for strong bloody violence and gore, sexual content, nudity, language, and drug use, promising a brutally intense return to one of horror’s most notorious franchises.
