Colin Firth (Kingsman: The Secret Service) stares down the unknown in a new image released by USA Today from Steven Spielberg’s upcoming sci-fi thriller Disclosure Day.
The mysterious feature is set to land in theaters on June 12 via Universal, and while plot details remain tightly under wraps, the teaser synopsis promises high-stakes suspense:
“If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to Disclosure Day.”
The film reunites Spielberg with a powerhouse cast, including Emily Blunt (A Quiet Place), Josh O’Connor (Wake Up Dead Man), Eve Hewson (Bridge of Spies), Colman Domingo (The Running Man), and Wyatt Russell (Monarch: Legacy of Monsters).
Behind the camera, Spielberg collaborates with longtime creative partners: cinematographer Janusz Kaminski (Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan), production designer Adam Stockhausen (Ready Player One, West Side Story), editors Michael Kahn (Jurassic Park, Raiders of the Lost Ark) and Sarah Broshar (Ready Player One, The Fabelmans), and composer John Williams (Jaws, Jurassic Park).
Spielberg produces through Amblin Entertainment alongside Kristie Macosko Krieger (Ready Player One, The Fabelmans), with Adam Somner (Bridge of Spies, Ready Player One) and Chris Brigham (Inception, Shutter Island) serving as executive producers.
With Firth in the mix and Spielberg at the helm, Disclosure Day is shaping up to be a tense, star-studded exploration of humanity’s first close encounter with extraterrestrial life.
