PlayStation Store Leak Unearths a Returning Survivor for Resident Evil Requiem

Sony just outdid GameStop’s recent slip-up with a juicier, blood-tinged leak of their own. A new image that briefly surfaced on the PlayStation Store has practically confirmed the return of one of Resident Evil’s most beloved survivors in next year’s Resident Evil Requiem, dropping this February.

According to IGN, players who bought the standard digital edition and went digging for preload info were met with fresh cover art—and it’s a doozy. Front and center is Requiem’s new protagonist Grace Ashcroft, but lurking in the shadows behind her is none other than a battered, world-weary Leon S. Kennedy, rocking his iconic Resident Evil 4 leather jacket like he’s ready to wade back into the nightmare.

This reveal comes hot on the heels of GameStop’s earlier Deluxe Edition “leak,” though that one still floats in “take with a grain of salt” territory compared to Sony’s much clearer digital faceplant.

Of course, this all but slashes any chance of a dramatic surprise reveal at The Game Awards this Thursday—a shame, since fans were sharpening their theories about which veteran character might step back into the fray. Capcom, unsurprisingly, is staying silent as a grave.

Resident Evil Requiem launches February 27 on PC (Steam and Epic), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2, dragging fans back into the carnage once more.
