Survival horror fans, brace yourselves. DeVoid Studio has officially announced that Perished Truth—a grim mash-up being touted as Resident Evil meets Saw—is hitting Early Access on January 30. A free demo is already live on Steam for players who want an early taste of its brutality.

Perished Truth follows Shinji Ueda, a grieving husband whose world collapsed after his wife’s death. With his daughter now terminally ill and time slipping away, Shinji turns to the darkest corners of the internet in a desperate search for a cure. One mysterious package later, he wakes up on a remote island built on torment and secrets. Hunted by manifestations of his past, Shinji has only one objective: survive the trials… or die trying.

To live long enough to uncover who imprisoned him, Shinji must endure a gauntlet of deadly challenges—each one more twisted than the last. One failure, one wrong step, and it’s over.

The game leans into classic survival horror DNA with fixed-camera angles and tank controls, but players can switch to a modern control scheme and over-the-shoulder combat if they prefer. Exploration is everything: you’ll scavenge and craft weapons, fight off deranged captives (some infected with something far worse than fear), solve environmental puzzles, and slowly unravel the truth behind this nightmare island.

Time is your enemy. Fail to escape—or fail to uncover the truth—and you risk becoming just another infected corpse left to rot in the dark.
