Lin Shaye Says Insidious 6 Opens the Door to Even More Demons
Horror legend Lin Shaye is putting an end to the whispers that Insidious 6 will be her final ride—or the end of the franchise altogether. Taking to Facebook, Shaye blasted the speculation, saying, “False information that this Insidious is ‘my last film’ and/or is ‘last film of the franchise.’ We are just getting started!”
Production on Insidious 6 officially wrapped last week in Australia, locking in its release date for August 21, 2026, with Sony and Blumhouse bringing the nightmare back to theaters.
Shaye returns as paranormal powerhouse Elise Rainier, joined by Amelia Eve (The Haunting of Bly Manor), Brandon Perea (Nope), Maisie Richardson-Sellers (Legends of Tomorrow), Sam Spruell (Fargo), and Island Austin.
The new chapter is directed by Jacob Chase (Come Play), who co-wrote the script with David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (The Conjuring 2, Orphan).
Producing the film are Jason Blum, Oren Peli, James Wan, and Leigh Whannell, with Johnson-McGoldrick, Ryan Turek, Steven Schneider, and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones serving as executive producers.
The Insidious franchise kicked off in 2011 and has since spawned five films, including the massive 2023 hit Insidious: The Red Door, the highest-grossing entry so far. And if Lin Shaye’s words are anything to go by… the Further is only just opening wider.
