‘Terrifier’ Star Jenna Kanell Fights to Survive in All-Female Horror Thriller ‘The Hatchery’
Terrifier and Renfield star Jenna Kanell is diving into deadly new territory with The Hatchery, an ocean-set survival horror film currently in early pre-production, Deadline reports.
Directed by Howard J. Ford (The Dead) and written by Tim Pickett, the film features an all-female cast and promises to deliver both claustrophobic terror and intense survival horror.
The Hatchery follows eight women who awaken in total darkness inside a cargo container, with no memory of how they got there. Soon, they discover they’ve been abducted by a human trafficking ring—but their nightmare is only beginning. When a violent storm throws their container into the ocean, the women must band together to survive against impossible odds.
As days pass and desperation sets in, one of them begins to change—her wounds heal unnaturally fast, her strength becomes monstrous, and the group realizes the horrifying truth: she’s not just another victim… she’s part of a twisted experiment.
With the women trapped at sea and hunted from within, survival becomes something far more terrifying.
Director Howard J. Ford describes the film as “raw and terrifying”, adding:
“I want audiences to feel trapped in that container with these women as the tension builds and then explodes. Our team will deliver a film that shocks, thrills, and stands out. Strap in—it’s going to be a wild ride.”
Alliance Media Partners (AMP) has joined as worldwide sales agent ahead of next month’s American Film Market (AFM).
AMP’s Anthony Buckner praised the project, calling it a “high-concept horror that shines a light on sensitive issues in a way global audiences can easily relate to.”
With its mix of psychological dread, body horror, and survival tension, The Hatchery looks ready to deliver one of 2025’s most intense all-female horror experiences.
