Faux Doc Horror ‘Man Finds Tape’ Sets December Release Date

Published

on

Magnet Releasing, the genre-focused label under Magnolia Pictures, is closing out the year with a chilling descent into paranoia and memory distortion. Their latest release, Man Finds Tape, hits select theaters and VOD on December 5, 2025, and it’s already making waves in the horror circuit.

Starring Kelsey Pribilski, William Magnuson, John Gholson, Brian Villalobos, and Nell Kessler, this faux-documentary horror film blends found footage with a haunting small-town mystery that refuses to stay buried.

The Premise:

When documentarian Lynn Page (Pribilski) gets a disturbing phone call, she returns to her rural Texas hometown to investigate eerie footage tied to an incident no one seems to remember. But things take a darker turn when she uncovers her brother’s connection to a viral web series called Man Finds Tape—and the sinister force tied to it.

A stranger’s arrival triggers a spiraling descent into chaos, forcing Lynn to confront the horrifying truth about her family’s past and a monster stalking the town of Larkin, TX.

Behind the Madness:

Man Finds Tape marks the feature debut of co-writers and co-directors Paul Gandersman and Peter Hall, and it’s backed by horror heavyweights. Producers David Lawson Jr., Aaron Moorhead, and Justin Benson (The Endless, Something in the Dirt, Daredevil: Born Again) bring their signature dread to the project, alongside Ashley Landavazo, with executive producers Jessica Cargill, C. Robert Cargill, and XYZ Films.

Festival Buzz:

Premiering earlier this year at Tribeca, the film drew praise for its slow-burn terror and inventive genre-blending. Rue Morgue reports critic Daniel Kurland called it “a satisfying slow burn… an ambitious hybrid horror film that provokes and reinforces that seeing isn’t just believing—it can be deadly.”

A trailer hasn’t dropped yet—but with the release date looming, expect it to surface soon. And when it does… watch closely.
