The Midsummer Scream Halloween and Horror Convention is returning to the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California from August 15-17 (that’s this weekend!), and we’ve learned that Lionsgate is slashing into the event with Lionsgate’s Gears of Fear 2: Stranger Danger all weekend, billed as the terrifying sequel to last year’s Gears of Fear maze!

The haunted maze is created by Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group, and will feature moments from The Devil’s Rejects, The Crazies (2010), May, and The Strangers – Chapter 2.

Lionsgate previews, “Venture back into the vault and bear witness to the horrors within! Lionsgate returns to the Hall of Shadows with the terrifying sequel to last year’s Gears of Fear maze. Featuring twisted thrills from classic and upcoming horror releases.”

Lionsgate is also playing host to The Strangers – Chapter 2 Filmmaker Panel on the Promenade Stage on Saturday at 3pm PST, featuring director Renny Harlin (A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, Exorcist: The Beginning), producer Courtney Solomon (After), and producer Mark Canton (300, Den of Thieves: Pantera).

As part of the filmmaker panel, Midsummer guests will dive deep into the horror with the filmmaking team as they discuss the behind-the-scenes process of bringing these iconic characters to the big screen ― and get a terrifying taste of what’s to come in the next chapter.

The Lionsgate Horror Retail Booth will also be open all weekend long on the convention show floor at Booth 400, featuring products straight from the official Lionsgate Shop.

Also on display, and available to purchase digitally, is the new Lionsgate Limited Blu-Ray/4K packaged media line featuring horror favorites like You’re Next and It Follows.

Visitors to the Lionsgate Horror Retail Booth can also pose for an exciting photo opportunity alongside three The Strangers statues and a The Strangers – Chapter 2 backdrop.
