The Black Phone breakout Madeleine McGraw is stepping into another chilling role with SuperUnknown, a coming-of-age creature thriller, according to Deadline.

Written by Chris and Charlie Frazier, the film will be helmed by sibling directing duo Chris and Nick Riedell—known collectively as The Brothers Riedell.

SuperUnknown centers on a high school student who uncovers a dark family secret: his parents have been hiding a supernatural creature. When the beast escapes and begins terrorizing their quiet suburban town, he and his bandmates must confront it head-on.

While McGraw’s specific role has not yet been revealed, production is slated to kick off this fall.

The 16-year-old actress is having a breakout year, having earned the 2025 CinemaCon Rising Star Award and preparing to reprise her fan-favorite role as Gwen in The Black Phone 2 later this year. She also recently starred alongside her younger sister, Violet McGraw (M3GAN), in The Curse of the Necklace.
