‘The Banished’ – Creepy Australian Folk Horror Arrives Next Month to Haunt Your Senses

Terror takes root in the remote wilderness in The Banished, an unsettling new Australian folk horror film arriving in select theaters and on VOD July 18 via Brainstorm Media.
Written and directed by Joseph Sims-Dennett (Observance), the film follows Grace as she plunges into treacherous terrain in search of her missing brother. What begins as a desperate search soon turns into a chilling descent, as Grace uncovers a horrifying truth and confronts a darkness that threatens to consume her.
The film stars Meg Clarke, Leighton Cardno, Gautier Pavlovic-Hobba, Tony Hughes, and Diane Smith. The Banished had its premiere at Beyond Fest, earning praise for its atmospheric tension and disturbing climax.
“Joseph Sims-Dennett’s exquisitely crafted film offers audiences profound mystery with a terrifying third act that will get under your skin and not let go,” said Brainstorm Media CEO Michelle Shwarzstein.
