‘Covet’ Brings Together Horror Legends Kane Hodder and Bill Moseley

Two titans of terror are joining forces for a chilling new horror-thriller.
Kane Hodder — best known for donning the iconic hockey mask as Jason Voorhees in four Friday the 13th films — will star alongside The Devil’s Rejects and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 veteran Bill Moseley in Covet, a new project Variety can exclusively confirm.
Written and directed by Brian McQuery, Covet marks his second feature following 2023’s Plea, which starred horror icon Heather Langenkamp of Nightmare on Elm Street fame.
The official synopsis teases a twisted descent into the unknown: “When a sleazy car salesman is framed for the murder of his mistress, he must fight to prove his innocence — only to uncover that the true culprits may not be human.”
McQuery expressed excitement about the casting, saying, “I’m thrilled to work with Kane in a role that highlights both his menacing presence and unexpected humor. And I can’t wait to see what Bill Moseley brings to the role of Sheriff Troy.”
Covet is being produced by Spyder Dobrofsky under his Worlds Apart banner. Dobrofsky’s recent credits include the upcoming horror-thriller The Weeping, starring Doug Jones, Reggie Lee, and Too Hot to Handle‘s Chase DeMoor. He also helmed 2024’s supernatural drama Down Below, which starred Eric Roberts and Bai Ling.
“Bringing Kane Hodder and Bill Moseley together on screen, guided by Brian’s wildly inventive script, is exactly the kind of horror experience we aim to deliver at Worlds Apart,” Dobrofsky said. “This film promises the fear, tension, and nostalgic adrenaline fans crave.”
In addition to his legendary turn as Jason, Hodder terrified audiences as Victor Crowley in the Hatchet franchise. Moseley, a mainstay in Rob Zombie’s horror universe, famously portrayed Chop Top in the cult classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.
