The universe has a way of bringing things full circle, and in the case of I Know What You Did Last Summer, that means The Fisherman is back in Southport. Watch the chilling trailer for the latest slasher sequel above.
Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. are back, reprising their iconic roles as Julie James and Ray Bronson from the 1997 classic. Joining them in the new cast are Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks), Chase Sui Wonders (Bodies Bodies Bodies), Jonah Hauer-King (The Little Mermaid), Tyriq Withers (Him), and Sarah Pidgeon (The Wilds).
The story picks up a year after five friends cover up a fatal car accident. Rather than face the consequences, they make a pact to keep their involvement a secret. But as time passes, their past resurfaces—and someone knows exactly what they did last summer. Now, they’re being hunted by a vengeful killer.
As one by one the group is targeted, they learn this deadly game has played out before. Desperate for help, they seek the aid of two survivors from the infamous 1997 Southport Massacre.
Directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge) and written by Robinson and Sam Lansky, the film draws on a story co-crafted by Robinson and Leah McKendrick (M.F.A.).
The cast also features Billy Campbell (The Rocketeer), musician/model Gabbriette Bechtel, Austin Nichols (The Walking Dead), Lola Tung (The Summer I Turned Pretty), and Nicholas Alexander Chavez (Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story).
I Know What You Did Last Summer hits theaters on July 18, brought to you by Sony.
