Playtime Turns Deadly in Tubi’s ‘Hive’ Trailer
Things get seriously wrong in the first trailer for Hive, where Xochitl Gomez (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) and Aaron Dominguez (Only Murders in the Building) play siblings caught in a neighborhood that feels… off.
‘The Hive’ will premiere exclusively on Tubi on April 17, and if the trailer is any indication, this isn’t your average babysitting gig gone wrong.
Gomez stars as a tightly wound teen babysitter whose night spirals into chaos after the child she’s watching vanishes without a trace. Her search leads her straight into a seemingly ordinary playground — one crawling with children who aren’t quite right. As paranoia sets in and reality begins to fracture, she’s forced into a waking nightmare where the real danger hides in plain sight.
The supporting cast includes Zenobia Kloppers, Victoria Firsova, Tanya van Graan, Jenny le Roux, and Thulani Nzonzo — all adding to the film’s increasingly unsettling atmosphere.
Writer-director Felipe Vargas expands on his own short film of the same name, once again teaming with Gomez to bring the concept to life. Vargas first gained attention with his viral 2020 short Milk Teeth and is also attached to direct the upcoming folkloric horror project The Mouth of the Furnace.
Backed by Blue Ice Pictures, Hive leans into psychological dread and eerie social commentary, teasing a world where something sinister lurks beneath the surface — and the kids might be the most dangerous part of all.
Watch the trailer now, and keep an eye on Hive when it lands next month on Tubi.
