Microsoft Store Accidentally Spills the Release Date for the ‘Silent Hill 2’ Remake
The fog just got a little thicker for Xbox players — and not because of the weather.
After the ESRB rating for the Xbox Series version of Silent Hill 2 surfaced last week, the Microsoft Store briefly went one step further, prematurely posting the game’s full store page — complete with a November 21 release date. The page was quickly pulled down, but not before TrueAchievements grabbed the receipts in the form of a screenshot.
The Xbox release will reportedly mirror the PlayStation 5 and PC versions, offering both a Standard and Deluxe Edition. The Deluxe pack includes a digital artbook, soundtrack, and even a Pyramid Head pizza box cosmetic — a cheeky nod to the series’ twisted iconography.
Adding to the excitement, rumors suggest Silent Hill 2 might also drop as part of a bundle with the newly released Silent Hill f, making this fall a major season for fans of Konami’s long-dormant horror legacy.
Sadly, it looks like the “Born From a Wish” DLC — originally included in the 2001 Xbox version of Silent Hill 2 — won’t be making a return, at least not yet. That extra chapter, which later appeared in the PlayStation 2 Greatest Hits version, remains one of the most haunting and beloved additions to the series.
Developed by Bloober Team, this modern reimagining of Silent Hill 2 once again follows James Sunderland, a grief-stricken man who journeys to the eerie town after receiving a mysterious letter from his dead wife, Mary. What he finds instead are manifestations of guilt, grief, and monstrous desire — including the ever-looming Pyramid Head, one of horror gaming’s most iconic nightmares.
If the leaked date holds true, Xbox Series players will finally be able to step into the mist on November 21, and rediscover why Silent Hill 2 remains one of the most psychologically disturbing games ever made.
