Every story must come to an end—and for The Sandman, that time is near.

Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for the second and final season of its dark fantasy adaptation. Split into two parts, The Sandman Season 2 will wrap up Dream’s saga with a sweeping, emotional conclusion.

Volume 1 premieres July 3 with six episodes:

  • Season of Mists

  • The Ruler of Hell

  • More Devils Than Vast Hell Can Hold

  • Brief Lives

  • The Song of Orpheus

  • Family Blood

Volume 2 arrives July 25, adding five more chapters:

  • Time and Night

  • Fuel for the Fire

  • The Kindly Ones

  • Long Live the King

  • A Tale of Graceful Ends

A final bonus episode titled Death: The High Cost of Living drops July 31, spotlighting the beloved character Death.

While the series was cancelled following allegations against creator Neil Gaiman—who penned the original comic and served as executive producer—the second season promises a definitive ending for the Lord of Dreams.

The final chapter follows Dream of the Endless as he reunites with his fractured family and faces the devastating consequences of his past. With his realm, his legacy, and the waking world at stake, Dream must navigate treacherous encounters with gods, monsters, mortals, and memories. But redemption, if it’s possible, may come at the highest price.

Tom Sturridge returns as Dream, joined by a star-studded ensemble including Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Mason Alexander Park, Donna Preston, Esmé Creed-Miles, Adrian Lester, Barry Sloane, Patton Oswalt, Gwendoline Christie, Jenna Coleman, Vivienne Acheampong, Stephen Fry, and Razane Jammal.

New faces this season include Ruairi O’Connor, Freddie Fox, Clive Russell, Laurence O’Fuarain, Ann Skelly, Douglas Booth, Jack Gleeson, Indya Moore, and Steve Coogan.

All 12 episodes are directed by Jamie Childs, who previously helmed four episodes in Season 1. Showrunner Allan Heinberg leads the writing team, which includes Ameni Rozsa, Alex Newman-Wise, Austin Guzman, Shadi Petosky, Jim Campolongo, Vanessa Benton, Jay Franklin, Greg Goetz, and Marina Marlens.

The end is coming—and it’s looking unforgettable.
