“Lizzie Borden took an axe…” — the chilling nursery rhyme lives on in The Lizzie Borden Game, a new indie horror film from Breaking Glass Pictures that resurrects the infamous legend for a modern audience.

Directed and written by Calvin Morie McCarthy, the film follows Emily, a young woman reeling from the recent, tragic loss of her parents. In search of comfort, she joins a Friendsgiving retreat—only to find the holiday turns into a nightmare after a mysterious party game awakens the vengeful spirit of Lizzie Borden.

Chynna Rae Shurts portrays the iconic axe-wielding specter, alongside a cast that includes Airisa Durand, Jason Brooks, Laura Wilson, Jessica Noel Thompson, and Steve Larkin.

The Lizzie Borden Game is currently streaming on Prime Video, with additional VOD releases on the way. Check out the trailer below and prepare for a haunting blend of folklore, possession, and slasher thrills.
