Brace yourself for a heart-pounding aquatic nightmare. The new trailer for Lionsgate’s horror thriller Killer Whale teases a bloodthirsty predator and a fight for survival that will leave audiences gasping.

Killer Whale swims into theaters, digital, and VOD on January 16, 2026.

The film follows Trish (Virginia Gardner, Halloween 2018), who tries to comfort her best friend Maddie with a luxurious getaway to a private lagoon halfway across the world. But what starts as a serene retreat quickly descends into terror when the ocean’s deadliest predator seeks vengeance for a brutal life in captivity. Think 47 Meters Down or Fall—with Gardner facing off against a new, relentless foe.

Jo-Anne Brechin (Designing Christmas With You) directs from a script co-written with Katharine E. McPhee, and the cast also includes Mel Jarnson and Mitchell Hope.

The MPAA has rated Killer Whale “R” for violent content, bloody/grisly images, language, and brief drug use—perfectly setting the stage for a chilling aquatic horror experience.
