‘Greenland 2: Migration’ Final Trailer Has Gerard Butler Fighting for Survival
Gerard Butler is back in survival mode — and this time, he’s fighting not just to stay alive, but to find something worth rebuilding — in the final trailer for Greenland 2: Migration.
Set five years after the catastrophic events of the 2020 disaster hit, the post-apocalyptic sequel picks up in a world forever altered by a devastating comet strike. With much of Earth left uninhabitable, the Garrity family is forced to abandon the relative safety of their Greenland bunker and journey across a fractured, hostile landscape in search of a new place to call home.
Butler reprises his role alongside Morena Baccarin and Roger Dale Floyd, with the sequel expanding its cast to include Roman Griffin Davis, Amber Rose Revah, Sophie Thompson, Trond Fausa Aurvåg, and William Abadie.
Director Ric Roman Waugh returns to helm the follow-up, working from a script by Chris Sparling (Greenland, Buried) and Mitchell LaFortune (Last Breath). Butler and Waugh also produce, joined by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Alan Siegel, Sebastien Raybaud, John Zois, and Brendon Boyea.
Greenland 2: Migration opens in theaters this Friday, January 9, via Lionsgate and STX Films, and is rated PG-13 for some strong violence, bloody images, and intense action.
