‘Umbrella Academy’ Star David Castañeda Breaks Into Lionsgate’s New Home Invasion Horror
Get ready for a new kind of terror — David Castañeda (The Umbrella Academy, Ballerina) has officially joined Lionsgate and Midnight Pictures’ untitled home invasion horror thriller, Deadline reports.
He reunites on-screen with Aimee Carrero (The Menu, The Last Witch Hunter), who stars as Lorena, a mother obsessed with keeping her 12-year-old son safe after a recent accident. Their high-tech home security system monitors every corner — but when masked intruders strike, the cameras can do nothing to stop the nightmare unfolding in real time.
Castañeda steps into the role of Ben, Lorena’s husband and a dedicated doctor, who must help his family survive the terrifying siege.
The film marks the feature directorial debut of Julian Labrádor, who co-wrote the script with Owen Egerton (Blood Fest), polished with revisions by Nathan Elston (Succession).
Production wrapped recently in Los Angeles, with Labrádor producing alongside Tabitha Shick and Andre Fonseca, and Jeff Robinov, Dan Clifton, and Adam Maffei serving as executive producers.
With a mother, son, and a home under siege, this Lionsgate horror promises tense, edge-of-your-seat thrills — and a nightmare you won’t forget.
