Just yesterday, it was announced that Your Favorite Scary Movie: How the Scream Films Rewrote the Rules of Horror will hit shelves next month. Today brings exciting news about the audiobook’s narrator.

Roger L. Jackson, who voices horror icon Ghostface in the Scream franchise, is officially narrating the Your Favorite Scary Movie audiobook, THR reports.

The new book will be published on August 19 via Plume.

Written by entertainment journalist Ashley Cullins, the 352-page book examines the making and impact of the Scream films with behind-the-scenes insight from cast and crew, as well as analysis on how the movies’ special blend of gruesome violence and humorous self-awareness rewrote the horror playbook.

It features new interviews from over 80 key players involved with the franchise, including Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Kevin Williamson, Skeet Ulrich, Matthew Lillard, Jack Quaid, Parker Posey, Hayden Panettiere, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Radio Silence, Roger L. Jackson, and more.

“It is my hope that everyone who listens to this audiobook enjoys it as much as I enjoyed reading it. So well written, with depth and nuance. Many things I never knew and stories I had never heard. This is essential reading for anyone interested in Scream,” said Jackson in a statement. “It was an honor to read this for fans of the films and people, like me, who delight in audiobooks.”

Kevin Williamson previously said of the book, “Your Favorite Scary Movie is the definitive story of Scream, a true bible of its history and legacy. I learned so much about this franchise that I never knew. Brilliant!”

Your Favorite Scary Movie, an in-depth look at how the Scream films became a global sensation, has a lot of ground to cover with this franchise. The first six Scream films have amassed nearly $1 billion at the global box office, with the seventh installment on the way next year.
