‘Yellowjackets’ Final Season Is Now in Production

Prepare for one last journey into the wilderness: Season 4 of Showtime’s Yellowjackets is officially in production in Vancouver, and it will mark the series’ final chapter.

Creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson confirmed the planned ending in a statement last October, saying, “After three incredible seasons, and great consideration, we’re excited to announce that we will be bringing the story of Yellowjackets to its twisted conclusion in this fourth and final season.”

They added, “We can’t wait to share the final chapter with you and hope you find it… delicious.”

Premiering in 2021, Yellowjackets follows a high school girls’ soccer team whose plane crashes in the remote wilderness in 1996, chronicling both their brutal fight for survival and the fractured lives they attempt to rebuild nearly 25 years later.

The past timeline is led by Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Samantha Hanratty, Sophie Thatcher, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, and Nia Sondaya. The present-day storyline stars Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Christina Ricci, Simone Kessell, Warren Kole, Sarah Desjardins, and Elijah Wood.

Season 4 will also welcome Molly Ringwald and June Squibb to the ensemble, with the final season currently targeting a late 2026 premiere.

Season 3 ended with the Yellowjackets clinging to a fragile victory. The brutal winter that nearly destroyed them is finally over, but fractures within the group — including growing distrust in leadership — threaten their chances of rescue. In the present timeline, long-buried secrets continue to claw their way to the surface.

As the survivors struggle to keep their lives from unraveling, they’re forced to confront a chilling question: who have they really become — and what darkness are they still hiding from each other and themselves?
