Netflix’s smash hit series “Wednesday,” led by Jenna Ortega, is officially gearing up for its next chapter. Season 3 is now in production and is expected to premiere sometime in 2027, with Netflix unveiling the main cast in a new announcement video today.

Fan favorites will return to Nevermore Academy, and they’ll be joined by several notable newcomers. Netflix confirmed that Winona Ryder, Eva Green, and Chris Sarandon (Fright Night) have boarded the upcoming season.

Ryder’s casting marks her return to Netflix following the conclusion of “Stranger Things,” and also reunites her with director Tim Burton. Green and Sarandon both have prior Burton ties as well — Green starred in Dark Shadows and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, while Sarandon famously voiced Jack Skellington in The Nightmare Before Christmas.

In Season 3, Winona Ryder will play a character named Tabitha, while Eva Green takes on the role of Aunt Ophelia.

Tim Burton is back in the director’s chair, with returning cast members including Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Billie Piper, Fred Armisen, Isaac Ordonez, Joy Sunday, Victor Dorobantu, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Oscar Morgan, Noah Taylor, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Kennedy Moyer, Evie Templeton, Joanna Lumley, Joonas Suotamo, Liv Spencer, and more.

Series creators and showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar continue to steer the franchise alongside executive producer and director Tim Burton.

The second season teases that Nevermore is back in session, with Wednesday facing a new principal, a sinister campus stalker, and a troubling decline in her psychic abilities.

The first two seasons of “Wednesday” are currently streaming on Netflix.
