‘Stranger Things 5’ Showrunner Drops Runtime Details for First Four Episodes

The rumor mill may have been running wild this summer, but Stranger Things 5 co-creator and showrunner Ross Duffer has finally spilled the official runtimes for the first four episodes of the final season — and they’re longer than you might expect.

The premiere, “The Crawl,” runs 1 hour 8 minutes. Episode 2 (title still under wraps) clocks in at 54 minutes, Episode 3, “The Turnbow Trap,” hits 1 hour 6 minutes, and Episode 4, “Sorcerer,” is a feature-length 1 hour 23 minutes.

The first four episodes drop November 26, followed by three more on December 25, with the series finale landing December 31 — all globally at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET.

Set in 1987, Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts. The town is under military quarantine, Eleven is in hiding, and the heroes are on a mission to find and kill Vecna before the darkness consumes them all. With the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaching, a heavier, deadlier dread looms, and the final battle will demand the full party united — one last time.

The star-studded cast includes Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Brett Gelman, Jamie Campbell Bower, Cara Buono, Amybeth McNulty, Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, Alex Breaux, and Linda Hamilton.

Ross and Matt Duffer return to helm the epic conclusion to one of Netflix’s most beloved horror-infused sci-fi sagas.
