Modern horror master Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House, Doctor Sleep) has signed a multi-year overall television deal with Amazon MGM Studios, according to Deadline.

Under the agreement, Flanagan will develop and produce original series exclusively for the studio as he continues expanding his growing slate of genre projects.

The first series to arrive from the partnership is Flanagan’s new adaptation of Stephen King’s Carrie, which wrapped filming last year and is currently targeting an October premiere.

The eight-episode series follows outcast high school student Carrie White, who has spent most of her life isolated under the strict control of her deeply religious mother. After the sudden death of her father, Carrie is thrust into the unfamiliar world of public high school—where bullying, cruelty, and a scandal that rocks the community collide with the awakening of her terrifying telekinetic powers.

Summer H. Howell stars as Carrie White alongside Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White. The cast also includes Siena Agudong (Sue Snell), Alison Thornton (Chris Hargensen), Josie Totah (Tina Blake), Arthur Conti (Billy Nolan), Joel Oulette (Tommy Ross), Amber Midthunder (Rita Desjardian), and Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle.

Recurring guest stars include Katee Sackhoff, Heather Graham, Kate Siegel, Michael Trucco, Rahul Kohli, Crystal Balint, Danielle Klaudt, Tim Bagley, Tahmoh Penikett, Mapuana Makia, Naika Toussaint, Delainey Hayles, Cassandra Naud, and Rowan Danielle.

Flanagan’s schedule remains packed with horror projects. Production begins this week on his new Exorcist film, which is slated to hit theaters on March 12, 2027. The filmmaker is also attached to a new adaptation of Stephen King’s The Mist and co-wrote DC’s upcoming horror film Clayface, set for release on October 23.

With the new Amazon deal in place, fans are also hoping the partnership will finally bring Flanagan’s long-anticipated adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower to life.
