Anne Hathaway Set to Star in True Crime Serial Killer Series ‘Fear Not’
Anne Hathaway is set to star in and executive produce Fear Not, a true-crime limited series coming to Paramount+ next year. The series explores the disturbing real-life story of Stephen Morin, a prolific serial killer accused of committing more murders than Ted Bundy — and the unsettling, deeply human connection he formed with his final kidnapping victim.
Hathaway will portray Margy Palm, the last woman Morin abducted. What began as a terrifying, potentially deadly captivity took an unexpected and unsettling turn, marked by compassion, prayer, and extraordinary courage. Palm’s unwavering faith — and her belief that Morin could be redeemed — transformed their relationship into one that endured long after she was released, continuing up until Morin was sentenced to death.
The series is based on the Vanity Fair article “Sympathy for the Devil” by Julie Miller, with Bash Doran (Outlaw King, Boardwalk Empire) attached as writer.
Paramount+ Head of Originals Jane Wiseman praised the project, calling it a chilling true story elevated by Hathaway’s involvement. According to Wiseman, the series is grounded in the lived experience of its protagonist, with Hathaway bringing “a level of nuance and gravity” that only an actor of her caliber can deliver.
The real Margy Palm will serve as an executive producer alongside her husband Bart and daughter Noelle. Additional executive producers include Hathaway, Adam Shulman, and Johnathan Rice under Somewhere Pictures; Steve Stark and Stacey Levin for Toluca Pictures; and Helen Estabrook for Vanity Fair Studios. MGM Television is producing.
Fear Not joins an already packed slate for Hathaway, who has Mother Mary, The Devil Wears Prada 2, The Odyssey, Verity, and Flowervale Street all slated for release in 2026.
Faith, fear, and a killer who shouldn’t inspire sympathy — Fear Not looks ready to dig deep into the darkest corners of true crime.
