From Director/Executive Producer Jack Riccobono, Amityville: An Origin Story reveals the narrative behind the world’s most famed haunted home tale: the Amityville murders. The study is the first in-depth examination of every facet of this complex tale of the brutal murder of a family of six that was overshadowed by paranormal controversies.

The Amityville Horror, a 1979 blockbuster film based on the Jay Anson novel of the same name, has produced an ever-expanding universe of films, novels, supernatural theories, and horror superfans. But the mass murder that may have been responsible for the hauntings—and its purported connections to organized crime—left a complex web of unanswered issues.

The series, which has its roots in the sinister cultural undercurrents of the 1970s, includes first-person stories from witnesses, relatives, and former investigators who appear on camera for the first time. The Amityville story is told in the most fascinating and thorough way yet with the help of exclusive archive film, recently discovered photos, and magnificent original photography. Viewers are taken on a heart-pounding roller coaster ride through the mythology, historical record, and tragic human toll.
