Winston Duke and LaKeith Stanfield Team Up with Scott Mescudi for Animated Sci-Fi Monster Adventure
Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi is leading Jeron Braxton’s feature debut, the animated monster thriller Slime, and Deadline reports that Winston Duke (Us, Black Panther) and LaKeith Stanfield (Knives Out, Haunted Mansion) have joined the cast.
The ensemble also includes Willow Smith (I Am Legend), Teyana Taylor (One Battle After Another), Anna Sawai (Shōgun, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters), John Cho (Murder Bot, Afraid), and John Boyega (The Woman King, Attack the Block).
Set in a near-future dystopia, Slime follows Muna (Smith), a desperate young woman who signs up for a paid clinical trial. She’s injected with a mysterious creature’s slime, granting her destructive powers she can’t control. On the run, she kidnaps Glenn (Mescudi), the lab worker responsible for her transformation, and together they embark on a perilous journey across a crumbling world.
As Muna’s powers spiral out of control, the question arises: will she become humanity’s worst nightmare—or its last, unlikely savior?
Described as “a classic monster movie decked out in fashion-forward video game skins,” Slime promises to be wickedly satirical, terrifying, and visually trippy.
The script was written by Brian Ash (The Boondocks), who also serves as executive producer. Kid Cudi contributes an original soundtrack and score, adding another layer of immersive horror and chaos to the film.
