Lauren LaVera Faces Bousman’s Darkest Nightmare in ‘Twisted’ This February

From the mind behind Saw II-IV and Spiral, Darren Lynn Bousman’s Twisted is set to hit screens on February 6 via Republic Pictures.

Bousman teased the release on Instagram with a shocking set clip: Terrifier star Lauren LaVera takes a brutal stab to the neck. “Can I just profess my love, admiration and AWE of [Lauren LaVera]?!” Bousman wrote. “I can’t wait for you all to see this, and her in it! Also shout out to [Sven Granlund] and [Yazmin Granlund] for our practical effects!”

The film spins a dark, modern horror twist on a classic con: two millennials make quick cash by leasing luxurious New York apartments they don’t own to unsuspecting tenants. The scam works—until they encounter an apartment owner with a deadly secret who turns the game on them.

The cast includes Djimon Hounsou (A Quiet Place: Day One), Mia Healey (The Wilds), Gina Philips (Jeepers Creepers), Jacob Lukas Anderson (aka rapper Prof), Alicia Witt (Longlegs), and Neal McDonough (Minority Report).

Scripted by Unsane writers Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer, Twisted is rated R for strong bloody violence, gore, sexual assault, suicide, language, and some sexual material.

With February 6 just around the corner, fans can expect a trailer drop soon—and this one promises a vicious, thrill-packed ride.
