Turn Back Now: New ‘Exit 8’ Poster Previews Trailer Arrival

Neon has released a chilling poster for the upcoming Japanese psychological horror thriller Exit 8, giving audiences fair warning before tomorrow’s trailer drops.

The film hits U.S. theaters nationwide on April 10.

Based on the popular video game by Kotake Create, Exit 8 follows a man trapped in an endless, sterile subway corridor as he searches for the elusive Exit 8. The rules are simple: never ignore anomalies—spot one and turn back immediately, or continue and risk being sent back to the beginning. One small mistake could trap him forever in the corridor.

Kawamura Genki (Your Name. producer) directs from a script he co-wrote with Kentaro Hirase.

The cast is led by Kazunari Ninomiya (Letters from Iwo Jima) alongside Yamato Kôchi, Naru Asanuma, Kotone Hanase, and Nana Komatsu (Silence). Producers include Kenji Yamada (Godzilla Minus One), Yuto Sakata, Akito Yamamoto, and Taichi Ito.

Exit 8 premiered at Cannes 2025, earning an 8-minute standing ovation, and went on to screen at Toronto, Sitges, Beyond Fest, Busan, and Rotterdam. The film was a major hit in Japan, grossing over $27 million during its fall release.
