A haunting new psychological thriller is on the way. Mia, described as a tense, slow-burn descent into uncertainty in the vein of Prisoners and Gone Girl, is set to debut on VOD June 8 via Breaking Glass Pictures.

At the center of Mia is Aaron, a mentally unstable drifter who becomes obsessed with the belief that Emma—a sheltered 17-year-old girl—is his missing daughter, Mia. But Emma swears she’s never seen him before, forcing Aaron—and the audience—to question what’s real, what’s imagined, and who’s truly in danger.

Written and directed by Luis Ferrer—whose screenplays have been optioned by both Netflix and Spike Lee—the film stars Emiliana Jasper, Shah Motia, and Julie Lucido.

“Mia is a film designed to make you feel uneasy from the very first frame,” says Ferrer. “I wanted to explore the terror of uncertainty—of not knowing what’s real or who to trust.”

Breaking Glass CEO Rich Wolff calls Mia “an unforgettable psychological thriller that keeps you hooked until the very last second. Ferrer has crafted a film that is not only suspenseful but deeply thought-provoking. We’re thrilled to bring it to audiences who crave intelligent, gripping storytelling.”

Prepare for a chilling ride into the unknown when Mia arrives June 8.
