After premiering during the NFC game, the trailer of Stephen King’s adaptation of ‘The Boogeyman’ has made its way to the net. (Check out the trailer up here!)
The film is directed by Rob Savage (Host, Dashcam) and was initially bound for Hulu, but after King’s approval is now headed to the big screen on June 2, 20203 backed by 20th Century Studios.
The original story was first published in 1973, before finding a home in Stephen King’s Night Shift collection in 1978. This is the first time it has been adapted as a feature film.
In ‘The Boogeyman’
“Still reeling from the tragic death of their mother, a teenage girl and her little brother find themselves plagued by a sadistic presence in their house and struggle to get their grieving father to pay attention before it’s too late.”
In the cast Sophie Thatcher (“Yellowjackets”) and Chris Messina (Birds of Prey) star with David Dastmalchian (Dune, The Suicide Squad), Marin Ireland (Y: The Last Man, The Umbrella Academy), Vivien Lyra Blair (Bird Box, Mr. Corman) and Madison Hu (Voyagers).
Scott Beck & Bryan Woods (A Quiet Place) and Akela Cooper (Malignant) wrote the script. 21 Laps’ Shawn Levy, Dan Levine & Dan Cohen are producing.
