Steven Spielberg Returns to Produce New ‘Gremlins’ Movie, Hitting Theaters November 2027!

After decades of rumors, rewrites, and fan speculation, Gremlins is officially clawing its way back to the big screen. Warner Bros. confirmed that the long-awaited third installment in the horror-comedy classic is set to hit theaters on November 19, 2027 — marking the first live-action Gremlins film in nearly 40 years.

The original dream team is reuniting for the project: Steven Spielberg returns as executive producer, while Chris Columbus — who penned the 1984 original — will direct and produce the new sequel.

According to an update from The Hollywood Reporter, Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein (Final Destination: Bloodlines) are co-writing Gremlins 3 alongside Columbus.

The Gremlins franchise has been dormant since Joe Dante’s cult classics (Gremlins in 1984 and Gremlins 2: The New Batch in 1990). More recently, the mischievous creatures resurfaced in the animated prequel series Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai on Max — but this marks the first true return of Gizmo and his gremlin counterparts to live-action chaos.

For the uninitiated, the Gremlins films follow the adorable yet dangerous Mogwai, a mysterious species governed by three infamous rules: don’t expose them to bright light, don’t get them wet, and never — ever — feed them after midnight. Break the rules, and you unleash a swarm of savage, sharp-toothed monsters.

Fan favorites Billy Peltzer (Zach Galligan) and Kate Beringer (Phoebe Cates) haven’t been confirmed for the sequel yet, but with Spielberg and Columbus at the helm, nostalgia is guaranteed to run wild.

Stay tuned to GoreCulture.com for updates on casting, plot details, and your first look at Gremlins 3 — because those little monsters are about to make a very loud comeback.
