Skeet Ulrich and Alicia Witt Star in Gen X Satirical Slasher ‘The Big Kill’

Get ready for a blood-soaked blast from the past — The Curse of Bridge Hollow writer Todd Berger is stepping behind the camera for The Big Kill, a Gen X-inspired slasher dripping with nostalgia, dark humor, and ’90s attitude.

According to THR, Scream legend Skeet Ulrich, Alicia Witt (Longlegs, Urban Legend), and comedian Pete Holmes (Woman of the Hour) are leading the cast in what’s described as a brutal yet satirical homage to Generation X — complete with a soundtrack packed with iconic 1990s hits.

The film follows a group of lifelong friends and their families who reunite at a remote cabin after a funeral. But the weekend takes a deadly turn when a killer begins picking them off one by one, forcing the friends to face not only their mortality but the haunting mistakes of their youth.

Joining the chaos are Jolene Blalock (Star Trek: Enterprise), Megan Suri (It Lives Inside), Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite), Natasha Leggero, Morgan Jay, Trevor Wallace, and Steph Tolev.

Berger directs from a script penned by Emmy-winning Daily Show writer Daniel Radosh, with production from Live Nation Studios and MXN Entertainment’s Mason Novick (Juno, Tully). Ryan Kroft serves as executive producer for Live Nation Studios.

“Horror plus comedy set to ’90s music equals a resounding yes for Live Nation Studios,” said Kroft. “With this fan-favorite cast and phenomenal producing team, The Big Kill is destined to be a horror hit.”

Berger shared his inspiration:

“When I saw Scream as a teenager, it blew me away — a slasher with people my age, talking the way we actually talked. But over time, I realized the characters in horror movies weren’t aging with us. The Big Kill lets me explore what happens when Gen X finally faces its own mortality — with kids, mortgages, and existential dread.”

Production has officially wrapped, with The Big Kill promising to deliver a killer mix of nostalgia, satire, and old-school slasher energy.
