First Look at Shudder Original ‘Crazy Old Lady’ Ahead of February Premiere

Published

on

Shudder is stacking its February lineup with two all-new original horror films, kicking things off with Honey Bunch on February 13, followed later in the month by the chilling Crazy Old Lady.

We’ve learned that Shudder Original Crazy Old Lady will officially premiere on February 27, streaming in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK/Ireland.

Directed by Martín Mauregui, the film centers on Pedro, who receives a frantic call from his ex-girlfriend on a stormy night, begging him to look after her senile mother, Alicia. What starts as a seemingly harmless favor quickly spirals into a nightmare when Alicia refuses to let him leave. Trapped inside the house, Pedro is forced to endure her increasingly sadistic games if he hopes to survive until morning.

The buzz is well-earned. Crazy Old Lady took home Best Director in the Horror Competition at Fantastic Fest and was also an official selection at the Sitges Film Festival, cementing its status as one to watch.

Looking ahead, Shudder’s 2026 slate already includes The Mortuary Assistant, Crazy Old Lady, Mother of Flies, Bodycam, Honey Bunch, Night Patrol, and Whistle, with plenty more titles expected to be announced throughout the year. Be sure to check out the video below for sneak peeks at what’s ahead.
