‘Ready or Not 2: Here I Come’ Slashes Its Way to an R Rating for Brutal Gore
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come has officially been slapped with an R rating by the MPA for “strong bloody violence, gore, pervasive language, and brief drug use.”
For reference, the original Ready or Not earned its R for “violence, bloody images, language throughout, and some drug use,” suggesting the sequel is dialing the carnage up even further.
Samara Weaving returns as Grace, this time joined by Kathryn Newton, when the sequel hits theaters on March 27 from Searchlight Pictures. Also back are Radio Silence duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, directing from a script by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy.
The sequel picks up moments after the brutal showdown with the Le Domas family. Grace quickly learns she’s advanced to the next stage of the sadistic game—now with her estranged sister Faith (Newton) by her side. With four rival families hunting her down, Grace must survive the night, protect her sister, and seize control of the High Seat of the Council that secretly rules the world.
The stacked supporting cast includes Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, David Cronenberg, Elijah Wood, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, Varun Saranga, and Daniel Beirne.
Producers on the blood-soaked sequel include Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Bradley J. Fischer.
