Predator: Badlands Hits Digital Platforms Next Week

Dan Trachtenberg’s Predator: Badlands—now officially the highest-grossing entry in the long-running franchise—is gearing up to make its way into homes, landing on Digital platforms next week.

The sci-fi action epic arrives digitally on January 6, with a physical rollout following on February 17, 2026, when the film hits 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD.

Set on a brutal, remote planet, Predator: Badlands flips the script on the franchise by centering on a young Yautja warrior named Dek, played by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi. Cast out by his own clan, Dek forms an uneasy alliance with Thia (Elle Fanning), and the two set off on a deadly journey in search of the ultimate prey. As the film’s latest trailer makes clear, this Predator isn’t just hunting—it’s testing itself against the most dangerous game on the most dangerous planet imaginable.

Elle Fanning delivers a dual performance as Thia and Tessa, while Trachtenberg (Prey, 10 Cloverfield Lane) directs from a script he co-wrote with Patrick Aison (Prey), continuing his evolution of the franchise into darker, more character-driven territory.

For collectors and physical media diehards, Predator: Badlands is coming loaded with bonus content that digs deep into both the film’s world-building and the Predator mythology.

Bonus Features Include:

Deleted & Pre-Visualization Scenes (with optional commentary):

  • Sand Trap – An early animatic of Dek’s very different first encounter with Thia
  • Squirt Canyon – An extended sequence of Dek and Thia navigating a deadly, water-filled trench
  • Tessa vs. Abe – A deleted showdown between Tessa and a powerful synth
  • Razor Grass – Previs footage from Dek, Thia, and Bud’s first hunt
  • The Outpost – A visit to a Weyland-Yutani field facility that influenced the final cut
  • Super Power Loader Extended – Additional moments from Dek’s climactic final battle

Featurettes:

  • Embodying the Predator – A deep dive into the artists and performers bringing the Yautja to life
  • Authentic Synthetics – Elle Fanning breaks down the creation of Thia and Tessa
  • Building the Badlands – A behind-the-scenes look at the deadly planet Genna
  • Dek of the Yautja – An extended exploration of Predator culture, homeworlds, and family dynamics

Audio Commentary:

  • Featuring director Dan Trachtenberg, producer Ben Rosenblatt, cinematographer Jeff Cutter, and stunt coordinator Jacob Tomuri

Whether you’re revisiting the hunt or watching for the first time, Predator: Badlands is about to bring the pain home—digitally first, then on physical media early next year.
