New Predator: Badlands Footage Reveals Ties to the Alien Series

More than 20 years after Alien vs. Predator brought two of sci-fi horror’s deadliest creatures face to face, the universes of Alien and Predator are colliding once again—this time in a far more unexpected way.

Dan Trachtenberg, who revitalized the franchise with Prey and 10 Cloverfield Lane, returns to direct Predator: Badlands, a bold new chapter that blurs the line between hunter and hunted.

Unlike the brutal crossovers of the past, Badlands ties the two franchises together through atmosphere and lore rather than all-out warfare. Elle Fanning stars as Thia, a Weyland-Yutani android stranded on a hostile alien planet. When she crosses paths with Dek, a young Predator exiled from his clan, the two must form an uneasy alliance to survive what’s coming.

The latest teaser drives home the Alien connection, flashing the unmistakable Weyland-Yutani logo—the corporate evil that’s haunted the Alien saga since the very beginning. Fans have been quick to dissect every frame, speculating on whether Thia’s creation ties directly into the company’s long history of biological weapon experiments.

Joining Fanning is Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi as Dek, the outcast Predator navigating a world that may be as dangerous to him as it is to his unlikely human companion.

Predator: Badlands is set on a remote planet steeped in mystery, where survival demands uneasy alliances and the hunt never truly ends.

The film releases November 7, 2025, across IMAX, Dolby Cinema, RealD 3D, 4DX, ScreenX, and other premium formats—promising to deliver a cinematic hunt unlike anything fans have seen before.
