New Movie ‘Return to Silent Hill’ Releasing in Theaters January 2026
Deadline reports that Return to Silent Hill will hit theaters on January 23, 2026, distributed by Iconic Events Releasing.
Directed by Christophe Gans—the filmmaker behind the original 2006 Silent Hill adaptation—Return to Silent Hill follows Jeremy Irvine as James, a man shattered by the end of his relationship with his beloved Mary. When a mysterious letter from her lures him back to the eerie town of Silent Hill, James finds the place twisted by a malevolent force.
As he searches for Mary, James is confronted by monstrous creatures and disturbing revelations. The deeper he ventures into the town’s darkness, the more terrifying the truths become, testing his grip on reality and his resolve to save the woman he loves.
Hannah Emily Anderson also stars in the film, which Gans co-wrote with Sandra Vo-Anh and William Josef Schneider.
Return to Silent Hill marks the third live-action entry in the franchise, following 2006’s Silent Hill and its 2012 sequel Silent Hill: Revelation. The release is perfectly timed to capitalize on the renewed buzz around the series, especially with the recent debut of the Silent Hill 2 game remake, which serves as the movie’s inspiration.
“Return to Silent Hill hits theaters at the perfect time following the successful recent launch of the Silent Hill 2 game remake that the movie is based on, while also celebrating the 20th anniversary of the start of the horror film franchise,” said Mark Rupp, CFO/COO and co-founder of Iconic Events Releasing.
Fans of the franchise—and horror lovers in general—have plenty to look forward to as Silent Hill reopens its gates early next year.
