In celebration of “Ghostbusters Day,” a fresh take on the iconic Ghostbusters logo has been officially unveiled on social media. Fans are speculating that this logo serves as the first teaser poster for the highly anticipated sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife. The frosty design strongly hints at a storyline set in winter within the bustling streets of New York City.

Take a look at the official teaser poster below and let the speculation begin…

Could this indicate a Christmas-themed Ghostbusters adventure? We can only hope.

Directed by Gil Kenan (known for Monster House and Poltergeist), the sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife features an exciting cast that includes Patton Oswalt, Kumail Nanjiani, James Acaster, and Emily Alyn Lind, alongside returning stars Ernie Hudson, Mckenna Grace, Paul Rudd, and Carrie Coon.

Jason Reitman, who helmed Ghostbusters: Afterlife, takes on the role of producer for the upcoming sequel. Fans can expect the apparitions to haunt theaters once again on December 20, 2023.

According to the latest updates, the film will bring the action back to the familiar streets of New York City and the renowned firehouse that became synonymous with the original Ghostbusters movies. This connection is reflected in the working title of the film: Firehouse.

The first glimpse of the sequel arrived in the form of an Afterlife post-credits scene, leaving audiences eager for more.

Kenan expressed his excitement about being involved in the continuation of the Spengler family saga, stating, “It’s an absolute honor to pick up the proton pack and step behind the camera for the next chapter of the Spengler family saga. I just wish I could go back to 1984 and tell the kid in the sixth row of the Mann Valley West that one day he was going to get to direct a Ghostbusters film.”
