Milla Jovovich Breaks Bad in the Brutal New ‘Protector’ Trailer from the Director of ‘Rambo: Last Blood’

If Taken had a blood feud with John Wick, the offspring would look a lot like Protector—the latest savage action-thriller from director Adrian Grünberg (Rambo: Last Blood, The Black Demon) and headlined by none other than Milla Jovovich, the reigning queen of cinematic carnage.

Magenta Light Studios will unleash Protector in theaters on February 20, 2026, and the newly dropped trailer makes one thing crystal clear: Jovovich is back to breaking bones and taking names with merciless precision.

In the film, Nikki (Jovovich), a hardened war hero trying to bury her violent past, is forced back into the shadows when her daughter, Chloe, is abducted by a human-trafficking ring. Peace evaporates instantly, replaced by cold, tactical fury.

Nikki descends into the city’s criminal underbelly—knife-first—tearing through a brutal syndicate with the kind of military efficiency that leaves bodies and questions behind. Her rampage quickly puts her on the radar of both law enforcement and the military, turning her from survivor to fugitive as she races against time.

This is a story of a mother pushed past every limit, wielding the violent skills she swore she’d buried. And Jovovich looks terrifyingly comfortable slipping back into that persona.

The film also stars Isabel Myers, Manny Montana, Michael Stahl-David, Lydia Hull, D.B. Sweeney, Chase E. Kim, Don Harvey, Gabriel Sloyer, Texas Battle, Arica Himmel, and Matthew Modine.

Protector is written by Bong-Seob Mun.

Expect gunpowder, grit, and a whole lot of vengeance.
