Pom Klementieff (Guardians of the Galaxy, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning) takes center stage in the newly released trailer for Mi Amor, a French thriller that drops her into a sun-soaked nightmare in the Canary Islands.

Klementieff stars as Romy, a touring DJ whose island stop turns sinister when a close friend suddenly disappears. Stonewalled by locals and met with indifference from authorities, Romy’s desperate search pulls her into the orbit of a mysterious stranger and the unsettling owners of an exotic animal sanctuary hiding dark secrets of their own. As the trail grows colder, Romy teams up with a nightclub owner haunted by his past—and proves she’s willing to cross any line to uncover the truth.

The film is directed by Guillaume Nicloux, who co-wrote the screenplay with Nathalie Leuthreau.

The supporting cast includes Benoît Magimel (The Piano Teacher), *Freya Mavor (Skins), Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey (Cuckoo), *Anaël Snoek (The Serpent Queen), and Elina Löwensohn (Schindler’s List).

Produced by François Kraus and Denis Pineau-Valencienne, the film hails from Les Films du Kiosque.

Mi Amor made its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam over the weekend, with additional screenings scheduled for Friday and Saturday. The film opens theatrically in France on May 6, with Le Pacte handling international sales. U.S. release details have yet to be announced.
