A high-stakes digital heist unfolds entirely on computer screens in LifeHack, the upcoming screenlife thriller produced by Michael Fassbender and Timur Bekmambetov (Unfriended, Searching).

The cyber-thriller will open in theaters on May 15 via Triple Media Film in partnership with Iconic Events Releasing.

LifeHack follows Kyle and his group of friends—self-proclaimed digital Robin Hoods who spend their time gaming online and using their hacking skills to prank internet scammers. Looking for a bigger challenge, Kyle convinces the group to target tech billionaire Don Heard by exploiting the oversharing habits of his daughter, Lindsey, on social media.

After successfully breaching Don’s cryptocurrency wallet, the group believes they’ve executed the perfect cyber-heist. But their victory quickly turns into a nightmare when Lindsey contacts Kyle with a chilling ultimatum.

What began as a reckless online stunt soon spirals into a dangerous game, forcing the four friends to confront consequences far beyond anything they anticipated.

Inspired by true events, LifeHack marks the feature directorial debut of Irish filmmaker Ronan Corrigan, who co-wrote the script with Hope Elliott Kemp.

The cast includes Georgie Farmer (Wednesday), Yasmin Finney (Doctor Who), Roman Hayeck-Green (Sex Education), content creator James Scholz, Jessica Reynolds (The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw), and Charlie Creed-Miles (The Fifth Element).

LifeHack premiered at SXSW last year before going on to screen at Fantasia International Film Festival and the Overlook Film Festival.

The film is produced by Bekmambetov alongside Joann Kushner and Sasha Kletsov, with Fassbender executive producing through DMC Film with partners Daniel Emmerson and Conor McCaughan.
