‘Jason Universe’ Team Reignites Hype for a 13th ‘Friday the 13th’ Movie

The mask is back—and this time, the blood runs deeper.

After years of tangled rights battles, Jason Voorhees has officially returned, with the Jason Universe team reviving Camp Crystal Lake’s most infamous killer earlier this year. The relaunch already delivered the short film Sweet Revenge, and a new TV prequel series, Crystal Lake, is set to slash its way onto screens next year.

But the biggest question still hangs in the air like fog over the lake: what about a new movie?

In a fresh interview for SFX Magazine’s annual Halloween issue (via GamesRadar), Jason Universe producer Robbie Barsamian confirmed what fans have been dying to hear.

“We are actively working on a new movie – which will be the 13th in the franchise – as well as a new video game,” Barsamian teased.

That’s right—the long-awaited 13th entry in the Friday the 13th saga is officially in development. And that’s not all. Barsamian hinted that Jason’s resurrection won’t be limited to film and gaming alone.

“We’re exploring a variety of opportunities, but consistently staying focused on authenticity,” he added. “Jason will be returning in other unexpected ways.”

While details remain under wraps, it’s clear the Jason Universe is just getting started—and the legend of Camp Crystal Lake is about to grow even deadlier.

Stay tuned—because Jason’s next kill count is already in motion.
