‘Insidious 6’ Wraps Filming, Targets August 2026 Release

The Further is stirring once more. Insidious 6 has officially wrapped production in Australia, marking the next terrifying chapter in one of horror’s most successful modern franchises.

Director Jacob Chase (Come Play) confirmed the news on Instagram, writing, “That’s a wrap on the next chapter of Insidious. I’m wildly grateful to the cast, the crew, and for the dedication and care they put into every frame. See you in August.”

The film is set to haunt theaters on August 21, 2026, via Sony and Blumhouse, promising a return to the kind of supernatural dread that made the series a cornerstone of modern horror.

Horror legend Lin Shaye reprises her role, joined by Amelia Eve (The Haunting of Bly Manor), Brandon Perea (Nope), Maisie Richardson-Sellers (Legends of Tomorrow), Sam Spruell (Fargo), and Island Austin.

Chase co-wrote the script with David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (The Conjuring 2, Orphan), while David Garbett (Evil Dead Rise) handles cinematography — a lineup that promises both atmosphere and chaos.

Behind the scenes, the powerhouse producing team includes Jason Blum, Oren Peli, James Wan, and Leigh Whannell, with Johnson-McGoldrick, Ryan Turek, Steven Schneider, and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones serving as executive producers.

Since James Wan first unleashed Insidious in 2011, the franchise has grown into a global phenomenon, spawning sequels including Chapter 2 (2013), Chapter 3 (2015), The Last Key (2018), and The Red Door (2023) — the latter becoming the series’ highest-grossing entry to date.

Now, with Insidious 6, the darkness behind The Further is ready to pull us back in.
